Unputdownable

At the start of the sem when i was still very free and have nothing to do, I asked my housemate if she has any good storybooks that i can borrow. She lent me a fantasy trilogy by Robin Hobb caled the "Farseer Trilogy". It's about this bastard (look, bastard isn't really a foul word. It means anak luar nikah. I only knew that when i read the first book. It uses the word bastard extensively) to the Prince of some imaginary land with magic and stuff. I didnt really get to read the book coz settling down took more of my time than i have imagined.

A few days ago I started reading it properly, not for lack of better things to do but bcoz I have a lot of major assignments to do and books to study, and thinking of them depressed me so i seek refuge in a storybook i wasnt even interested in reading (perhaps bcoz of its title. Assassin's Apprentice doesnt sound very appealing to me). I read a few chapters and it gripped me, making me stop myself from putting it down when i wanted to. I spent all my free time for two whole days reading it, and i tried to prolong my free time by skipping lectures, sleeping less and not doing work. I couldnt believe how good the book is. I highly recommend the trilogy. Well, the 1st book anyway. Im just starting the 2nd one.

The Farseer Trilogy
Author : Robin Hobb
Books : Assassin's Apprentice , Royal Assassin and Assassin's Quest
Rating : 20/10
Reason : Bcoz it's good la.

And if u dont like it after reading it, its bcoz u have no taste.

There are some things you just cant tolerate

I hate ppl who:

1. use ellipsis after every fcking sentence......seriously, leaving every sentence trailing isnt a very cool thing to do....it's annoying and makes you look retarded................................

2. add z after lol. What the hell is lolz??????? Laugh out lousy?

3. must absolutely use haha after every other sentence.

All you retards who use ....haha....lolz... pls go and die.

The lyrics of Linkin Park's songs are actually quite meaningful

Today Audrey, Wanmit and me are supposed to follow a trip to Blue Mountain but due to some unforseen circumstances we missed the van that was supposed to take us there. Getting stuck between two very pek chek girls can be a very frightening experience, but boz im strong i persevered. In the end, I can only say 1 thing:

Spiderman 3 is good.

I can say this bcoz we were so pekchek to wake up before 6am for nothing that we went to eat dimsum and watch spiderman 3 instead. Then go back and sleep.

On a totally unrelated note, I fell in love with Linkin Park's new song Leave out all the rest and has been listening to it over and over again.

I dreamed I was missing
You were so scared
But no one would listen
coz no one else care

After my dream(ing?)
I woke with this fear
What am I leaving
When I'm done here
So if you're asking me I want you to know

When my time comes,
forget the wrongs that i've done
help me leave behind some
reasons to be missed.

Dont resent me
and when you're feeling empty
keep me in your memory
leave out all the rest
leave out all the rest

Such a suitable song to be played 24/7 in a hospital, dont you think?

In response to Nooi Hoay's blog entry entitled "Ad Hoc Committee"

For those of you who know Chau Wang, you might find this post relevant.

I do not know what is fuelling this but there must be a good reason behind his overflowing enthusiasm in playing his role as a secretary so well. I'm simply impressed.

To satisfy your curiosity, click example.

And for your information, this is not the only report that he has prepared so far.

P/S: I am but just a silent, inactive member. Yet I have been appointed as the chairperson of the ad hoc committee. Weird enough. :P

Yup, he really is enthusiastic. Gave me a shock. (Click example 2)

Anouncement

I shall be in Melbourne from 29 June to 07 July.

THE PRESTIGE

I finally get to watch the movie. It.was.TOTALLY.FANTASTIC. From the numerous twists to the antagonisation of Thomas Edison, the movie was simply unbelievable (didnt really admire Edison before this anyway. who cares about light bulb when we can have florescent light?) I cant understand why the movie didnt sell as well as Titanic. Its so much better! Publicity problem perhaps. Maybe if the heirs of Thomas Edison sue the film it'll get big.
