How to cure laziness

I am lazy. There's no denying it, and most of d ppl that know me know it. I'm not proud of it, serious. I dont understand how some ppl can say they started doing a certain assignment the day before it's due or started studying for a test only the day before with such pride, as if showing off that they can pull it off with so little effort. Shut up, man! Stop bragging about it already. How can u not feel guilty everytime u say that? Do u not know this pride of urs will someday be the cause of ur doom?

I am lazy, I know that. And so far, miraculously, I can still cope with life despite my laziness. But i dont want to be lazy. I feel pathetic. Its just that the dread of doing work that i feel seems to be a lot stronger than other ppl's. How can I cure this laziness of mine?

Ling Weng said no cure. Maybe she's right. Jia Haur said i need motivation and inspiration. Maybe he's right too. Maybe I'm lazy because my life has no purpose and so i have nothing to work hard for. Where can i find my motivation?

U've probably figured out that i'm writing this so that i dun hav to prepare for my presentation.

Students Not Ready For Real World : Study by Madeleine Wilson

PARKVILLE, 26 March. Behavourial scientists have recently become aware of the phenomenon of university circadian rhythms and their unique effect on students' biological clocks. Australian behavourial science research team Y Is It So has released a report on the subject which reveals that during the universtiy season, sutdents become accustomed to study (or 'work') for just 7 months of the year, with 5 months of free time. The report suggests that this handicaps students for life after they graduate, because university circadian rhythms are vastly different from those in the real world. "Students are ill-prepared by university for the average 11 months of work required in the workforce, for example," explained Dr. Coatworthy, a member for the Y-team.

The report also details other biological changes in students, such as dramatically altered sleeping and eating habits. This has been attributed to the extreme increase in exposure to light that students must undergo while studying, such as lots of tmie spent in brightly lit lecture theatres and libraries. The biological clock of students learn to function on less sleep than during the non-university season. There is also a marked increase in appetite during the university attendance season, especially for caffeine and sugary, processed snack foods.

Additional studies suggest that the university circadian rhythms can vary according to the course each student takes. For example, students undetaking an Arts degree become accustomed to not waking before 10:00 am, and not at all on Fridays. Engineering students, however, have been seen to develop a rhythm of early mornings and late nights which increases in severity around examination period (!!) Some evidence has been found that students undertaking a particularly complex double degree such as Science/Engineering become 'programmed' by their biological clocks to function on as little as half as much sleep as those in single degrees, and remain in a constant state of near-collapse.

This a major biological breakthrough, but further research is hampered by the extreme shortness of the university season. Universities with longer attendance seasons are now being considered as research candidates, making it unlikely that any more studies will be conducted in Australian universities.

Easter

Yeam came to Sydney for Easter!!!!

The few marks he left here:

We cooked

Sze Huey and Sher Reen came too. When they were in Usyd i had no idea what to show them coz even though our uni is indisputably the prettiest and biggest in Australia, there are only the buildings to show and once you've seen a few you've seen them all. And of course, there are the quadrangle and Vittoria Park.

They seem to have enjoyed the trip. See how happy they look?

Sher Reen even commended my tour-guiding.

The Mcquarie ppl came here too coz Quanyie, Chean Yeaw and Wai had a volleyball match in the malaysian sports tournament thingy. They surprisingly lost, even though Merlin flew here just to support qy. They visited my room and liked it. See how happy they were to see my house?

Yeam stayed overnight and the next day I brought him to unsw. Before that we cooked lunch together and it was really good. Yeam's agreement on the matter proves that i am not merely being perasan. I'm too lazy to upload d pics from my phone so u have to use ur imagination to picture how our cooking looked like. Just imagine very delicious looking chicken curry and vege soup and fried eggs and rice and leftover vegetarian beef rendang.

Yoke Heng came to spend the night at Audrey's place and I took her around campus again the next day before we go to Macquarie. When we were having lunch Yeam called me and asked for my help to persuade Meiji who suddenly decided that she should do work instead of going to Macquarie to see Selina. They desperately needed her to go to help carry the strawberry pies Yee Hong made. Yeam and Wen Jun threw everything they had at her (even flirt with her) but still failed to convince her to go. I thought that this would be fun so I called and used the skills I learnt while I was a PRS last time. After 20 minutes of sweet talking I succeded. This proves that Yeam and Wenjun super no skill (Long live PRS!).

And so we went to Macquarie, talking all the way and holding the pies all the way with Yee Hong complaining the pies were broken all the way. The trip itself was actually quite fun.

Their house was ok. The food that night was ok too. The games that night were also ok. Then the next day I found that smoke alarm is quite ok too coz it didnt go off when i fried ham.

I woke up at 4.30am in their house that night to watch MU trash AS Roma 7-1.

Then on the way back I bought "Voice of the Gods".

p/s: before all these i went to Featherdale wildlife park and Sydney aquarium but dont have the mood to blog about it so here's some pictures.

Quote of the Year

With assignments comes stress. Even when you are not doing your assignment the thought of having unfinished work will keep lingering at the back of your head. Stress will only build up as you procrastinate and the due date gets nearer. The only way to release yourself from the stress is by making progress. As you set a target to be achieved everyday, even if you dont meet your target you feel satisfied that at least you accomplished something. This way the stress keep reducing everyday as u get closer to completing the task. At the point of completion, you will be overwhelmed by a satisfaction unrivaled by any other senses in the mortal world.
