Trial

I studied until 7 am this morning. Since last night. For chemistry trial exam.

According to Daphne, that’s not hardworking. That’s kiasu.

After reading for so long and only get to sleep for such a short while before I have to get up again for exam I already feel like shit. Somemore have to get this kind of comment.

No No No

I would like to make something clear once and for all, before the situation gets out of hand.

I do not like Justina Teh. (Somehow, her name reminds me of Justea)

No no no, don't misunderstand. I don't mean that I dislike her. I don't have reasons to hate her. What I mean is I don't have that kind of feeling towards her. I only find her very pretty, thats all. Happy to remain as friends, not happy to have the relationship at the next level.

Luckily, Justina doesn't read my blog. Or it'll be quite awkward. Especially the Justea part.

So Christine Wong, stop spreading rumours. As if I don't have enough of those already.

P/s : People already have a boyfriend, and I like someone else. These rumours cause complications for both of us.

P/p/s : Regardless of what you might have heard, I also do not like Shuang Xiu and Yiao Hoong

ROCK!!!

It's Friday. I planned to go home. There was a Spec Maths quiz this morning so last night I studied till very late (4:30 am). Therefore I decided to sleep after class finish and go back in the evening. And sleep I did. The decision was not made without some careful calculations though. It takes around 1 and 1/2 hours for me to reach home from Cemara. The evening traffic jam clears around 6.00 pm. Dinner at home is at 8 pm. I shall wait for

At 6.20, I went to wait for the bus. At 7:40 I was still waiting for the bus. My stomach was killing me coz I havent ate anything since 1:30 (coz I was sleeping). Then it started raining...

That's it, I'm going back tomorrow morning. So I called Yeam out for dinner. Met Nat, Amanda (ALM) and Erin at Al Awwal.

Tonight there was a band competition at cemara stage, the Battle of the Band. It was their rehearsal in the evening that woke me up from my deep slumber. Some shriek like mad. I've never heard so many out of tune singing in one single singing competition before. The guest judge was Frequency Cannon, a local band. I've heard of them. The lead singer, a Chinese guy, is a doctor in the army. I rmbr about two years ago they won some Cornetto song contest.

My housemates and I opined that One in a Million contestants should be better than the contesting bands, so we stayed in our room to watch tv instead. Towards the end of the band competition, Frequency cannon performed. Now at least they are professionals, so I went down to watch. They rock man! They really know how to get the crowd going. There were a bunch of crazy guys jumping up and down in front of the stage throughout their performance. I was 1 of them. Its like watching a rock concert. We kept requesting for 1 more extra song and in the end they sang 4 (or 5, cant remember coz I was too high). When it ended I was bathing in sweat. Now this is ROCK !

(After that, went back to the room and Yeam showed me CY's blog, which triggered my previous post)

RUMOURS

Rumours. What the hell are they? Also known as ‘khabar angin’ in Malay, I believe everyone reading this have enough sense and capability to understand the meaning and implications of rumours. Even the government wants us to understand what exactly rumours are. The government is so desperate to educate us relating this matter that it even incorporated this into the syllabus of BTN (Kem Biro Tata Negara). Believe it or not, scholars (JPA) are assumed to be so stupid that they need to be taught the difference between rumours, facts and opinionated questions for a few solid hours. Or perhaps, I am being just too critical regarding this issue. Perhaps, there are indeed people who are ignorant enough to understand the difference between rumours and truth. (Ng 2006). Just for the sake of clarification, I would like to explain what rumours, facts and opinionated questions, all in 3 simple but powerful examples shown below:

Rumour : Chean Yeaw likes Chia Ling.
Opinionated question : Do you think Sze Ching has the natural ability to blog?
Fact : Chean Yeaw is not cute, handsome and muscular. (ABSOLUTELY no doubt about that :P)

Before I go on, I would like to express my most sincere apology to a certain friend of mine if my action has angered him in any way imaginable. It was wrong of me to think that what I did was funny. He has been a great friend and it will be a great loss to me if he stays angry at me forever.

Rumours may be good as it is a good provider of fun. People often use rumours as their ammunition to shoot other people (victims of rumours). As their victims wince and grimace, they enjoyed themselves immensely. They basically gain satisfaction from people’s pain. These sentences are not simply put here without solid evidence of their truth. I am have personal experience to support these words. A few weeks back, during the birthday celebration of a certain girl in McD, I was mercilessly shot by some friends from the beginning till the end of the celebration just because the same 2 people have before that started some rumours about me and the girl in question. The fact that it was the girl's birthday and she deserved at least 1 day of peace did not occur at all to them. Instead, we were made victims of constant bombardment. Not wanting to make the girl feel uncomfortable at her own birthday party, I held my tongue in the hope that they will get bored after a while, realising that any argument of my part will only fuel the conversation of this particular topic. However, they seem to think that as it was her birthday she should be at the centre of any conversation. So, the shooting perpetuated throughout the whole night. As we wince and grimace, they roared with laughter. At the end of the party, they have the audacity to ask me why I was so quite that night. I almost swore. What do you call these people? I label them as sadists. Nothing less than that (Ng 2006; Tan 2006).

Rumours can have devastating effects. It can lead to the deteriorating friendship between the victims of rumours, especially if it is untrue and it involves rumours that someone likes another party. This widespread of rumours (rumours have uncanny ability to do so. Remember, it spreads exponentially at first) can lead to a victim (especially the ladies) feeling uncomfortable around the other victim. A possible outcome is the avoidance between the two victims (or even avoidance from one party is enough) and the next thing you see is the widening friendship gap between the two. So much for shooting for fun and being a sadist. All you do is to destroy another friendship. It is a pity why sometimes the victims of rumours have sadists as friends. These friends just don't seem to understand the damage they have done. Therefore, I completely understand how (Ng)CY feels (Ng 2006; Tan 2006).

Sometimes, a rumour can even spread to one's backyard. For example, in a certain Anniversary Post of my blog, many (ok lah actually a few only) are kind enough to leave comments wishing my blog happy anniversary. Obviously, an anniversary post can hardly be perceived as a WRONG post. But some people just HAVE to shoot me. Yes, I was shot in my own blog. How pathetic can that be? They may see it as teasing for fun. I understand that. But I also see that as a catalyst for a larger upswing. As the post took me a lot of effort to write, I couldn't get myself to delete it and can only hope that not many will read the comments (Ng 2006; Tan 2006).

I do not deny that I am a sadist sometimes too. I am not proud of what I did, nor do I intend to deny them. But I am growing weary of all this. I am tired of rumours. I am sick of repeating the same old things and giving the same expressions everytime I got teased. I am beginning to lose the fun of shooting other people. I had tried not to shoot people, but people somehow find me easier to bully and shoot me more frequently as the result, as demonstrated in the McD celebration incident. I realise that the shooting cycle I am involved in is triangular in shape and without at least 2 person stopping this childish behaviour the one that surendered first will only be attacked to death. So, what should I do? Just ignore the rumours and see friendships being destroyed as the consequences (Ng 2006; Tan 2006)?

Therefore, the suffering of Chean Yeaw I can completely comprehend. After all, all the hurtful things he had gone through I have experienced before him, no thanks to a few sadists that I know (2 in particular). CY, you have my deepest empathy and most sincere apology. I am very happy that someone besides myself will attempt to hold his tongue, so the plan of fighting rumours with silence may actually work. May the 3rd person realise his sin soon.

P/s : Some of the content of this post have been borrowed from somewhere else with the author quoted. These may not be my words, but they depict MY suffering perfectly.

P/p/s : I am sorry if anyone is upset by this post. Any offence has been unintentional and innocuous in nature.

BEE ATTACK !!!!!!!!

On my way back to the hostel from Ampang on Sunday night (around 9:50 pm) I received an sms from Yee Hong : “R u still at home? Bring insecticide. We’ve a bee attack!”

OMG!! A bee attack in the room now! I immediately asked my dad to drive slower. Then I replied: ”I’m on my way back d”

His reply: “Careful when coming in.”
Me: “Switch off all d light n open all doors n windows. D bees will fly out 2 d light”
Yee Hong: “We know that. But the bees from outside will fly in. Its ok just let them be they’ll fly to the fan and kill themselves.”

Still, that would take a long time. The best option would be to terminate them ourselves. Considering that all the shops would be closed by the time I reach Shah Alam, I sent SOS messages to my friends asking if they have insecticides. Their replies:

Wen Jun: “Use badminton racket 2 hit la. I killed 6 ad..”
Me: “Heart pain le…”
Wen Jun: “Den don kill lo.. Leave them to sting u lo.. I’ve killed 3 more btw. Jus use news paper n whack la.”

Qamarus: “I’m sorry but I don’t. Bee attack eh?”
Me: “Yeah u kena also?”
Qamarus: “X but my friends kene la. Buy insecticides 1st”

Jia Huei: “Siao..U think i sell products ar?I dun Hv la..I got ant med oni..”

Shuang Xiu: “We dun hav. Jia huei also dun hav”

Christine Wong: “Wic type do u want?”

Chien Yen: “We have a small bottle. Why?”
Me: “Our room is being attacked by bees! Can borrow?but after we use dunno if there’ll be any left”
Chien Yen: “Wa.. Other rooms they don’t hv? Cos i so far away.. I hv to ask chia ling 1st. She’s in starbucks.”

And finally…

Chao Tung: “Got, yes, i know, the mosquitoes are here in tonight in full blast. I may be out, come to merlin’s room, i have.”

Merlin: “Ya.. Boon has.. You wanna borrow is it?”

At last!

*************************************

Upon arrival I found numerous dead bees on the stairs. I opened the door cautiously and as I predicted all my roommates were hiding in the room. A lot of bees are lying dead on the ground (no doubt due to the fan) but a couple are still flying around the light in the living room and around six more in the kitchen. I put down my stuff and went to Merlin’s room to take the insecticide.
‘Are you sure this will kill the bees? Kill ants can la. Maybe if you spray the bees will get aggravate,’ said Merlin.
I looked at him in horror as the thought occurred to me. But I still decided to give it a try.
With the insecticide in my hand, I ran back to the room. My roommates (Yee Hong and Nat, Yeam is out) hid in their rooms while I approached the bees with cautious steps and sprayed those bastards with the powerful insecticide. Then, I quickly retreated a few steps in case Merlin’s theory is correct. They did seem to be slightly excited by the liquid but after flying for a while they fell to the ground one by one. Fearing that they were only lying unconscious and not dead I took one of Yee Hong’s revolutionary pirated croc slippers and hit each of them to make sure they die. One of them had its sting stuck to the underneath of the sandal but still connected to its body by a string of thick, sticky liquid. It took me quite a while to break the string of liquid without having to make skin contact. The sting is still stuck to the underside of Yee Hong’s slipper, but he doesn’t have to know that.

The bees have been exterminated. Mission accomplished.

Tan Sze Huey

No, she’s not my sister. We have no family relation as far as I know. She’s just my blog’s latest new reader!

And again, to reiterate a very important point, she is not my sister. She’s just another girl from Intec.

Tan Sze Ching
Tan Sze Huey

Look almost the same right? We were in the same kopln last year and during the 1st class, when signing my attendance I almost signed beside her name. I was pleasantly surprised to find someone with a name so similar to mine. Wonder how she felt at that time. By the way, this year, we are again in the same kopln and during the 1st class, she mistakenly signed at my place.

Our similarity doesn’t stop there. We both have elder sisters studying in UPM. Her sis is doing Statistic, mine doing Chem Engineering. Besides that, we can both speak Cantonese and we are both using blogspot. Her blog is http://winter11.blogspot.com

One thing that’s different about us is the pronounciation of the "Sze" in our names. For mine the pronunciation is the same as the letter "C", while for her its the same as the "zz" in "buzz".

Welcome to my blog Sze Huey. Hope u like it.

ps: Yiao Hoong actually reads my blog occasionally. Another new customer!

pps: Amanda, I really tried to finish my BTN post but when the will to write faded every word I tried to put inside sounded plain and uninteresting. Really really sorry.
