What I do during the holidays

Look, I know I promised to blog about my Penang trip, but seriously, are any of you really interested in reading it? It’s not going to be very interesting to read. The trip was fun, we visited a lot of places and ate a lot, but that’s about it. I really don’t know how to make the posts fascinating and I’m very lazy to recall all the activities and elaborate on them. And pictures take ages to upload in blogspot. The photos of my Ipoh trip took me a few hours so I’m not going to include any pics also :-p I’ve decided to blog about my holiday life after I came home instead. I know, what I do during the holidays wouldn’t be too interesting also, but at least I feel like writing about it. Hehe sorry…

My daily routine includes reading storybooks, playing computer games, watching tv, watching DVD and occasionally going online. And yes, of course I have to eat and sleep and drink and go to toilet also.

Ok I’m finished with what I do during the holidays and I don’t know what to write now.

Lets just elaborate on each of them.

Before I leave for holiday, right after my last mid-year paper, I went to the library to stock up on storybooks. Although I don’t look like it, I actually enjoy reading. However, for the past few months, time has been a luxury. My tight daily schedule has not permitted me to indulge in much storybook. So during the holiday I’m going to finish the last Shopaholic book (sorry Audrey!) and the books I borrowed from the library : A Matter of Honour (Jeffrey Archer), Artemis Fowl: The Eternity Code and Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident (Eoin Colfer). From what I’ve heard of Jeffrey Archer his stories are quite thrilling and I want to see if it’s true. As for Artemis Fowl someone recommended it in secondary school and now another friend gave rave reviews so I decided to try it. Besides that, the friend (a self-proclaimed storybook freak) also gave me two websites to download storybooks for free. Illegally of course. But who cares (Thanx Yen!). The books I’ve downloaded: The Bourne Identity, another Artemis Fowl, Digital Fortress, A Painted House (John Grisham), The Hobbit, and The Silmarillion. After I’ve finished these and if there’s still time I’ll download more. I prefer to read at night coz its more quiet and more peaceful. Just sitting there on my bed reading with no activities or noise around me just feel so good, especially if the story is nice. Usually I just forget the time and read till morning. The latest I’ve tried is until 6 am. This means getting up at 1 or 2 pm everyday. I’ve replaced breakfast with supper.

I’m playing the same old computer games. My favourite remains ‘Football Manager 2006’. I decided to go for a challenge and tried to manage a small club fighting against relegation, but I don’t want it to be too hard so I chose 1 with potential. I’m managing Fiorentina; tipped to be relegated but instead, under my management, is currently top of Italian Serie A after half a season with giants such as Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma humbly trailing behind HAHAHAHAHA….. As for ‘Champions League’, I’ve upgraded myself to ‘world class’ difficulty standard but I’m working very hard to obtain even a draw. I have no doubt though that with my talent in computer gaming it shall only be a matter of time before I emerge triumphant with ease in every match I play. Then I’ll change to FIFA.

Watch tv – no elaboration. Oh, the American Idol finale this year sucks. The quality of the show dropped.

One of the biggest revelations of Penang is their DVD cost RM4 each. RM4 each! I bought 4. Then I found out that in Miri they sell 3 for RM10. In KL RM9 for 1 lousy DVD is considered reasonable. Anyway, I bought: Goal (excellent!), Memoirs of a Geisha (not bad, but could be better), Fearless (bitterly disappointed! The story was plain and shallow, and the message of the film was not conveyed subtly enough. But the action choreography was good), and V for Vendetta (haven’t watched yet). From the DVDs I bought you might have noticed that my selection of movies is kinda weird. It’s because the movies that attract me are those with good plots, good stories rather than those action-packed or with overwhelming special effect or with excellent acting. ‘Batman’ didn’t excite me. MI3 doesn’t excite me either. I fell asleep watching ‘The Hours’ (but I’m sure a lot of people do also). I have a copy of King Kong saved in my laptop but never found the interest in watching it. And ‘Doom’ sure as hell did NOT excite me, they just ran around shooting aliens for God’s sake! On the other hand, X-Men 3 excites me, The Matrix was ingenious, and Spiderman was excellently done. That’s because besides being aesthetically brilliant they have a strong plot to match. If there’s any particular genre of movie that I like, it’s comedy and also those with sports theme.

And now about going online. I usually online quite late at night after I watch tv or when I’m tired from reading, usually at 12 or 1, sometimes even 2 am. so if you want to find me online don’t go offline too early. Then I’ll waste time on the net doing crap which is quite time consuming. Again, my record is until 6 am. What do I do? Check email, check friendster, check other ppl’s blog, download songs, download updates, etc etc; everything except updating my blog (until today) and playing online games.

I went to KLCC a few days ago with 3 of my secondary school friends, Teo, Mandy and Eng Peng. They’ve changed a bit physically, but their behaviour remain the same. Still so childish, and I’m glad they remain that way. They wanted to watch Da Vinci Code. Although I already watched the movie (in Penang, the first day it was screened J ) I still watch it with them for the second time. We forgot that it was Wednesday and there were a lot of ppl at TGV but luckily Eng Peng’s brother booked tickets. It only cost RM7 each and the line for telephone reservation was much shorter. The movie wasn’t that good, quite disappointing really. The pace is even slower than the book’s. Hope Angels and Demons will be better. I bought a crystal necklace from Mandy’s sister for my sister’s birthday.

This is the concluding paragraph and I really don’t know what to write. So good bye.
